EFish V1.0
EFish V1.0 is a web based customary fisheries management tool. The system was in built in 2006 and deployed 'Live' in 2007. eFish v1.0 provides a purpose built, online customary fisheries management tool designed to capture, record and track data and information through customary authorisation (permits) transferred into eFish by tangata kaitiaki or Iwi administration. The reporting features not only generate 'Live' data, but also enables Iwi to monitor high gathering levels within a specific location. Iwi administration can load alerts into the kaitiaki login screens to inform and encourage them to re-direct their permits to allow rotational haresting of kaimoana in that location. There are reporting functions such as quarterly reports generated through eFish that meet Minisrty of Fisheries reporting requirements which can be retrieved at the click of a button to assist Iwi and tangata kaitiaki to meet their statutory obligations.Efish V1.0 was a first step to use technology to enable Iwi, Hapu and Tangata Kaitiaki to use technology to capture their data for their purposes
The original system was a first step to building capacity for, kaitiaki, Hapu and Iwi adminstrators. eFish has been built with this in mind and has developed a user friendly system to support uptake knowing that a large number of kaitiaki may have not used a PC in the past.Register with eFish to receive up and coming system development & enhancement updates.
